Dr. Robenson Jean-Marie, born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, transformed a childhood passion for medicine into a distinguished career as a nephrologist in Miami. Inspired by a tragic case of mass poisoning in Haiti that highlighted the lack of access to dialysis, he chose to specialize in kidney care. After completing medical school at Université d’État d’Haïti in 2006, he practiced internal medicine before moving to the United States, where he trained in nephrology at Ohio State University.
In 2016, he founded his own practice in North Miami Beach to better serve the Haitian community, which faces disproportionately high rates of kidney disease. Today, he is the only Haitian nephrologist in Miami-Dade County, serving as Chief of Nephrology at Jackson North Medical Center and Medical Director at DaVita Kidney Care.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Jean-Marie is dedicated to educating patients about kidney health, emphasizing prevention over dialysis. He balances his professional achievements with family life, raising two children with his wife, while also enjoying soccer, volleyball, dancing, and music. His journey from humble beginnings in Haiti to medical leadership in Florida stands as a testament to resilience, service, and community impact.
